What We Do
The 999 Club has been offering advice,
support and a warm welcome to the most vulnerable people in the London
Borough of Lewisham since 1992 when it was set up by Iris French MBE and
Patricia Wyndham MBE in response to local demand.

The
three Centres (in Deptford, New Cross and Downham) are run by and for
local people and are open Monday – Friday, 10am – 5pm, offering
immediate help and support in times of crisis, as well as warmth,
friendship, tea and toast.
We also offer long term
support: help with applying for benefit, help with applying for jobs,
help with finding accommodation, help with getting medical treatment …
and so much more.
Apart from a very small amount
of funding from the London Borough of Lewisham (for which we are
immensely grateful) we rely entirely on fundraising from Trusts,
Corporate bodies and individuals. It’s an enormous task – and we
couldn’t do it without you! We are very grateful to all our supporters
